Have you ever wondered what the voice at the end of the phone looks like – well, sometimes it’s best to imagine!

Everyday at HBS Ring we take a huge number of incoming calls – which is how like it  - as no calls means no business! In an ideal world there may be a particular member of staff that you would choose to answer YOUR call. However, with 13 full and part time staff  here anyone may  pick up the phone and say ‘HBS, how can I help you?’

Each newsletter you are encouraged to RING THE RING FOR ANYTHING and each call will probably need a different expertise. No one can be an expert in all areas, but  we would hope that whoever answers your call is polite, cheerful, friendly and efficient and will either take a message, deal with your request or pass your call onto the relevant "expert". Whatever happens, you will not just be a number and we won’t ask you to press numbers on your phone pad!

ALAN MCLEAN (MANAGING DIRECTOR)- I spend the bulk of my time with a phone pressed to my ear and as long as it’s not an accounting matter I could be dealing with anything from fuel to fertiliser to fencing to insurance to haulage to machinery etc. etc.

Three days every week I do the payroll for HALS making sure that all employees who are out working have sent in timesheets and all their admin is up to date. With payroll numbers changing regularly, I also do P45s, P60s and other relevant admin.
