Location of the Job: Highlands, Inverness and surrounding area from our Inverness office. Office and Field based.

The Company: HBS Ring Ltd is an Agricultural Cooperative operating in the Highlands for more than 30 years. We work in the best interests of our membership providing cost effective member to member trading, land-based training services, and the sale of commodities to meet the needs of our broad customer base.

The Sector: Agricultural, Farm supplies, Sales and Member trading services.

The Job Role details:

This is a rewarding and varied sales role pivotal to the operational success of our business. As Sales Executive, you will work in the best interests of our membership, effectively liaising with existing and prospective clients and suppliers to enhance business performance and success.

Core duties:

  • Communicate by telephone, email and face to face with Customers to prospect, receive and process orders to achieve business targets and objectives.
  • Promote the business, products and services to the membership and wider community ensuring site visits are made, and Agricultural Gatherings are attended.
  • Procure new business and raise the visibility of the business within the Highlands. 
  • Ensure effective stock management and commodity ordering practices to maximise sales and minimise shrinkage and participate in regular and timely stock take processes.
  • Update relevant Databases with sales orders, member details and new assignments.
  • Acquire new members using proactive methods e.g. telephone, email, visits etc, to ensure that annual/monthly targets are met.
  • Liaise with Members, Customers, Suppliers and Colleagues in person, by telephone, email or text.
  • Source new suppliers and commodity product lines to expand the services we offer to our membership.
  • Complaint Handling and Investigation ensuring timely feedback to complainant and escalation of complaint if required.
  • Monitor relevant health and safety risks and hazards. Ensure compliance with company Health and Safety policies and systems.
  • Keep up to date with sector news and developments.

Ideal Skills and Qualifications:

You will have / be;

Agricultural/Farming Sector Experience: demonstrate relevant experience in agricultural sales or similar.

Results-driven and Sales-oriented people person; keep track of goals and performance and effectively manage positive relationships.

Confident Negotiator and Commercially Astute: able tonegotiate best price and  be aware of costs and overheads when setting prices.

Customer Service Experience: able to deliver and promote customer service excellence.

Organisation Skills: effectively manage your own day to day priorities and tasks.

Communication Skills: able to effectively communicate with members, customers and colleagues.

Computer Skills: working experience of Microsoft Office packages. We also use a bespoke database for creating and storing sales records and reports.

Full UK driving license is essential
